Stolen Range Rover Found Thanks to GSFleet Spotguard

A 2023 Range Rover stolen in Skåne during the night to Friday has been recovered — just hours after it disappeared. The vehicle, worth around SEK 1.6 million, was tracked down with the help of GSFleet’s Spotguard technology.

Owner finds Range Rover missing despite keys inside

The owner discovered the car missing on Friday morning. Both keys were still inside the house, and there were no signs of a break-in. The Range Rover seemed to have vanished without a trace.

Fortunately, the vehicle was equipped with a Spotguard tracker. The owner contacted GSFleet’s alarm center, which quickly located the car more than 120 kilometers away in Örkelljunga municipality.

“Spotguard uses three different tracking technologies. When GPS alone wasn’t enough, we added extra resources to secure the position,” says Klas Wassberg, Sales Director at GSFleet.

Police recovery with stolen car tracking system

GSFleet dispatched a special search unit to the area. Together with the police, they traced the signal to a property previously used for car dismantling.

Behind tall fences and inside a steel hall, they found the missing Range Rover. Police carried out a raid on the site and arrested several suspects.

“This car would hardly have been found without our unique tracking technology,” says Wassberg.

Why stolen car tracking systems matter

Range Rovers and other premium vehicles are increasingly targeted by organized criminals. Traditional security systems and GPS signals are often bypassed or blocked.

Spotguard combines GPS, GSM, and radio tracking, which means vehicles can still be recovered even when thieves try to jam the signal.

The recovered Range Rover, insured by Trygg-Hansa, will be returned to its owner once the police forensic investigation is complete.
